When our foreign aid budget takes a hit so does our national character

When you live in an extraordinarily wealthy nation, it is easy to take our luxuries for granted, to assume excess is the norm. I was starkly reminded of this when I attended the ‘Who the bloody hell are we?’ comedy gala held by the Campaign For Australian Aid, the aim of which was to raise awareness about the massive cuts to our foreign aid budget.
