Rebuild aid, don’t cut it

Cutting $400 million a year from the world's poorest while giving Australia's richest a $65 billion tax cut is just plain unfair. Email your MP asking them to oppose these cuts!

Reports have revealed the Turnbull Government is considering a $400 million a year cut to Australian aid in the Budget.

These reports come as the Government is looking to fund a $65 billion dollar corporate tax cut, but taking from the world’s poorest to give to Australia’s richest would be unconscionable. It would be like Robin Hood in reverse.

Last year through Australian aid, we supported people in Fiji to rebuild health centres after Cyclone Winston. In Papua New Guinea we helped to build infrastructure that has enabled hundreds of thousands people to gain better access to markets.  In Kiribati, we helped to reduce Tuberculosis rates. These are achievements we can be proud of.

Now is the time to show our representatives in Parliament that we are proud to come together as a nation to help our neigbours, and we are proud to speak up in support of Australian aid.
